What is WriteCheck and How it Helps Fight Plagiarism

Spread the love

As the name implies, this is a complete platform that should help a student when writing a paper. It allows you to check grammar and spelling within content as well as to search for plagiarism. There is also a paid tutoring service that will improve teaching process.

Write Check is a great English learning software that can also be used for last minute corrections before you turn in your paper, to point out mistake or for checking authenticity of a text.

While it is far from free, it can be well utilized by those who work in school or some other educational institution.

Let’s check its main features!

Technology in the center of attention

WriteCheck.com is based on mixed technology: plagiarism checker was made by Turnitin while grammar checker uses ETS technology.

Online assistance is provided by Pearson Tutor Services.

Based on that,it’s obvious that you will get high quality service.

There are also additional resources on the website. You can view a list of grammar and plagiarism tips, tutorials and interviews.

Various video sources can teach you more about plagiarism and how to learn about new topics in Google and utilize this knowledge without copying original text.

In terms of completeness, WriteCheck provides young writers with everything they need. This means that they don’t have to waste time browsing the Internet, various educational, governmental and news sources as they will have all the information in one place.

How does WriteCheck work?

This software is pretty easy to use.

Once you create an account and sign in, you can start by uploading a Word file or copy pasting a text. By clicking on a button, the plagiarism checker tool will compare your file to billions of web pages, student papers, journals, newspaper and numerous other content.

Then, software will generate a report that includes both grammar suggestions as well as plagiarism check. Have in mind that you are able to remove certain sources and citations when checking for uniqueness.

Program will assign a similarity score (showing percentage of uniqueness) as well as ETS (grammar score).

The software will also mark plagiarized sections of the text with plagiarized percentage. It will also mark grammar issues while leaving a note what kind of an error it was.

Once you’re done, report will be saved for later use. You can access it at any time through WriteCheck dashboard.

How much does it cost?

There are three packages at your disposal: single paper, semester plan and graduate plan.

Single paper allows you to check 1 document that is up to 5,000 words long.

Semester plan allows you to check 3 documents with same length limitation.

Lastly, graduate plan can be used on up to 5 documents.

They cost $8, $20 and $30 respectively.

When it comes to tutoring service you have standard critique ($30 per critique) and extended critique ($50 per critique). Standard critique addresses 3 areas in a document that is up to 2,500 words long. Extended critique addresses 4 areas in a document that is up to 5,000 words long.

My take on WriteCheck

This software is based on some solid technology. In fact, the entire system together with tutoring service is quite good.

However, it only makes sense taking it if you’re a student or a teacher. It isn’t a tool that should be used by content marketers or for checking plagiarism; it is too expensive for that. So, if you’re looking for a solution for your blog, it is better to skip this one.
